AF 5 weeks after baby? (TMI)

I gave birth 5+ weeks ago and bleeding has not really stopped, I was down to using a liner and just having a brown d/c, untill a couple days ago when the d/c has become more red in colour and heavier. I have been physically intmate with DH, but not in days prioir to increasing d/c.
I had period return at 6 weeks with DS1 despite exclusivly BF every 3-4 hrs (which I am doing with DS2). I did notice a tiny clot, the size of a match head, no pain or odour to complain of.

So I'm wondering if this is AF returning or if this blood loss is still related to post labour loss. I'm suppose to have 6 wk check up with Ob in a weeks for PAP smear and IUD insertion but not sure if that will be possible if I have AF or bleeding.

Has anyone ever experienced an increase in thier post labour loss after it started to settle down at this stage post PG?

The same thing happened to me about 6 weeks after having DD. I had just had my 6 week check up and wasn't sure what was happening so i phoned my OB's office and spoke to a midwife there. She didn't seem too concerned about it, she said that it could be more lochia or maybe AF coming back early which is possible, even though I was feeding very frequently still. I never got another AF, I just got pg again when DD was still feeding at 14 months so with hindsight I would say it was just some more lochia.

Hopefully it will stop soon. Mine lasted about as long as a normal AF and then went away again.
