    Gruesome dreams...

I need help deciphering these dreams.

Last week I had two gory dreams:

The first was just me carrying a blue bucket and in it was the dismembered remains of my BIL (who I love very dearly and my DH is very close to...its his older and only brother).

The second was more graphic and longer. I found myself in this strange house with my younger sister. We were creeped out and wanted to leave (not sure why or how we got there) and we saw this thing that looked like a wig on the ground in the kitchen (the kitchen was brown and orange and very 70's style). On closer inspection the wig was actually a scalp, and then we saw the rest of the body, which was all cut up. We were terrified and tried to run away, but we were scared we would be blamed because we had been in the house. So we tried to jump the back fence, but we were stopped by the neighbourhood cats, who kept leaping at us and biting us. They were all black.
So we went back inside and called my family who eventually came, and it was daylight. My mum said we should just ignore the body and pretend nothing had happened and went about making lunch and serving it outside...we were paranoid though that people would hear us in the house and dob us in...

And then the dream ends, with us eating lunch in the back yard...weird.

A couple of things. Last week I was going to see my family and DH's brother, so these people were on my mind. But the goryness I don't understand....why cut up? And what's with the cats?

Oh and I don't watch CSI or any of those shows, so it wasn't triggered by a murder show.

I was thinking about this some more, and I think the dream with BIL (dismembered in a bucket) might be because I feel he has lost some direction of late, and is, in a sense, just made up of parts: father, worker, partner etc. For some time I have been concerned he has lost a sense of 'self' and so maybe thats what the dream means??? He is now fragmented into parts, rather than an authentic identity itms?

So, now I am tempted to say something, but i know DH won't like that analysis at all (he is understandably protective of his family). I have BIL phone number, but honestly, would anyone like to hear that?? I am close to SIL, but that kind of information would freak her out, because she's having a tough time atm...

No replies needed. I just needed to get that out...

*hugs* I'm sorry you had to have icky dreams like that... I used to have absolute SHOCKERS like that, but only when I was pregnant? Might wanna POAS?
Sorry, it's not really funny, is it? I think maybe your assessment of BIL's losing himself is probably very accurate. I'm not sure what you can do about it, except perhaps just have a quiet word to him or SIL that you're there if they need to talk or something? I'm sorry, nothing useful. I hope you don't have any more awful dreams like that, though, you poor thing!
