    VBA2C - your stories please

I had c-section with both my previous boys, ds1 an emergency because he was in severe distress and ds2 a repeat because I was still so freaked about ds1's birth I didn't want to go thru with it again. I have just found I am pregnant with baby#3 and this time I feel such a strong need for a vaginal birth. Maybe because this will most likely be my last child and I feel like I have missed out on something. I would love to hear your stories of VBA2C.... ds2 will only be 16 months old when this next baby is born. I am wondering if that makes a difference with the risk.

His age shouldn't make a difference once your scar is healed at about 6weeks post op then it is just as strong as it will be 10yrs down the track
I've had 2 VBA2C, I had great uncomplicated labours with nice big babies.
    Where will you be birthing?

    Hi
There are a few people here on BB who've had vbac's & vba2c's.
Here's a link to the vbac threads Vaginal Birth After Caesarean (VBAC) & Vaginal Breech Birth
& here is the link to Birth Stories vbac will usually be included in the title of vbac stories, so you can have a read of them.

Not sure where I will be birthing yet. We live very rural and they tiny hospital here allows no high risk patients. I'm hoping to find somewhere that isn't to many hundreds of km's away.

Sounds like all the area's I've lived in. When I had DS there were 3 hospitals within an hour of me, but none would accept a birth at all! We had to travel 2 hours!

We're a bit worse than that. Our next nearest hospital is 350km away which was where I had both my c-sections. I am hoping against hope they will accept me. Otherwise I'll have to try brisbane which is 500km. I've heard there's a good place at the sunshine coast... that's a mere 600km away lol

    Hey honey I know you

Lots of information here on this site about VBA2Cs and lots of women on here that have had them. Definitely read the birth stories though - so inspiring (not mine necessarily - but others are!)

Or move down to tassie beforehand and have it at the birth centre I went to

There is a link to my VBA2C birth story in my sig.

I hope the hospital will take you. If it is a public hospital then they have to accept you even if they don't want to. They may tell you you have to have another CS but you can politley refuse. It is well within your rights, after all it is your body and baby and they can't do anything to you that you don't want.
    Good luck
