    So disheartened

    I'm so frustrated.

I've been a size 12-14 always, sometimes slipping into a 10, now that's an awesome day

Last week I went with my mum and she bought me some new clothes. Since DD was born, I have lost 14kgs. I am lighter than I have been in a really really long time. I was wearing 12s and 14s throughout my pregnancy.

So you can imagine how annoyed and disheartened I am to find that, although I am thinner, I don't fit into 12, or even 14, but 16!!!!! I have never been a 16 in my life. Isn't supposed to be a rewarding thing to lose weight and then get to buy clothes in a smaller size? Anyone else have this happen to them?

    This really sucks.

A big huge YES. This exactly what happens to me hun. I threw up my entire pregnancy and was 10 kgs lighter after DD was born but the same size clothes as I was before . Then started weight watchers as a friend was having great results, she lost 10kgs in 9 weeks without exercise. I stuck to it, walked 2kms everyday and in 9 weeks I lost....wait for it.....2kgs . It is so crappy and makes me furious! Big , it is heartbreaking when you try so hard and get nowhere!

Oh yeah, sucks doesn't it! I find, and I know it sounds like a huge copout but its true, that the sizing in the shops changes. I buy mostly Undercoverwear, and will wear a 22-24 sometimes even a 20 with them. But if I go to Target or Kmart, I have trouble fitting a 26 or 28, if I can even FIND anything that big. Its ridiculous darl, and can really get you down. I live by the motto now, It's not the number, it's the fit!

Kind of what I was going to say ...
if you feel better, and look better & are healthier...all that matters more than the tag on the clothes.

    I hear you on that!

I lost a heap of weight (20kg) two years ago, kept it off for 12 months then started on a new medication which made me gain 15kg. I have recently lost 7kg but I still seam to be the same size as I was 2 years ago when I was 105Kg - I am currently 92kg.

Its also worse when you go back to clothes from years ago. Because I am trying to lose more weight I dont want to pay heaps for clothes to get me through till I lose it all so went op shopping and the older the clothes the smaller the size I fitted into. I found an old pair of jeans from target a size 16 which fitted me but if I go to Target today I am a size 20?????

As Bernice and Fleur said 'its the fit not the number', I agree with that theory - although it is disapointing when you cant find clothes that fit because the store doesn't stock all sizes.

don't forget that your body shape also changes. You can lose weight but the way you stack it on, can alter your body shape. So it isn't just about losing the weight in numbers but also toning and reshaping. Weights can help with this - if you're a member of a gym you could request a weights program to target areas you want to change.

FWIW - I totally understand though. I am the same weight as I was in the weeks post DD's birth and now wear pants two sizes up. Same brand. It just sucks!

Thanks everyone. I know I shouldn't worry because I'm better off, but sheesh!!! Glad to know that I'm not the only one
