Question What do u look 4 in a nappy?

As a fluffy bum mum what are the must have's when you go shopping for a MCN?

    1. AIOs, AI2's, Prefolds, fitted's, Flats or flips?
    2. Pocket style, clip ins, Boosters or disposable inserts?
    3. Bright colours, pastel colours, natrual tones, texture or patterns?
    4. Velco or snaps?
    5. Organic or Not fussed?

1 - AI2 for day use, fitted and cover for o/n
2 - snap in boosters - with the ability to easily add more boosing if needed
3 - a mixture - some nappies go with certain outfits more than others - but i just like visually appealling nappies - over summer, the poppet lives in a nappy and not much else so it has to look good!
4 - snap closure - not a fan of aplix any more (though it was probably better on nb bub to get right fit)
5 - preference is for bamboo or hemp boosting - other materials, as long as they don't give DD a rash, i don't take that much notice of

prefer AIO or AI2 but have mostly pockets
    2. Pocket style, clip ins, Boosters or disposable inserts?
see above, but def not disposable. Prefer a pocket over a snap in though.
    3. Bright colours, pastel colours, natrual tones, texture or patterns?
A bit of funk, something different.
    4. Velco or press studs?
    Snaps
    5. Organic or Not fussed?
Nah not really fussed but won't buy if not bamboo.

    1. I use Ai2's and flats at the moment. Prefolds for newborns.
    2. As above - clip in boosters.
    3. I like my embroidered minky ones the best.
    4. Snaps - side snaps rule in this house.
    5. Not too fussed, but like Kim, has to be bamboo for the most absorbency.

    1. AIO & pockets
    2. Pockets & ones with boosters
    3. All mine are just plain bright colours, no textures or patterns. But I do have a boy! If I had a girl I might look for more appealing nappies lol! FWIW I do tend to buy the same colour for each different brand of MCN - this is so I can say to DH "these go with the blue nappies" for example.
    4. Prefer snaps, if only because I can throw them in the machine as is instead of having to put them in bags to protect velcro.
    5. Not fussed - don't know that much about it!

    1. prefolds as a NB...AI2's so I can pop in trifolds for more absorbency..

    2. not a fan of pockets but do have 2 or 3 (spoken like a real MCN junkie ) boosters a defent NOTHING disposable..would defete my purpose KWIM

    3. Bright colours, unusual embroideries, patterned minkee, OFAK's...defently nothing boring lol

    4. Snaps for sure...defently not velcro as little fingers soon work out to open them and press studs (the metal sort) can rust and leave horrible markings

    5. Organic baby ...nothing but bamboo fleece, bamboo velour for sure. Minkee on the outter. NO PUL!!!!! pass big time on that stuff!!!!

    1. I used flats before they fitted into medium sized MCNs. Fitteds with covers at home and overnight. AIOs when we go out.
    2. I like the AIO with a pocket nappies so I can boost them up without needing another liner. I have lots of boosters and fleece and suedecloth liners. I used disposible liners before I discovered an alternative... they aren't nearly as effective anyway.
    3. I have a mixture of fancy minky nappies and plain nappies. The plain ones go under clothes, the pretty ones are worn on their own.
    4. Don't really mind velcro or snaps. Mine worked out how to undo snaps pretty early too. I just had to put pants on over them after that. I still use snappies on the fitteds I have made myself... the only thing I have found that they can't undo.
    5. Not fussed about organic or not.

Fleece or wool covers are not waterproof as such. They are a breathable layer that doesn't get wet itself as fleece doesn't like water. But if the nappy underneath gets really wet then the wee can wick through onto other things if bub sits on it. I was dubious until I tried it, but they are great, especially overnight. It is also really tough when bub is sitting on concrete/ rocks/ mud, doesn't wear it out at all and pretty much everything washes off easily.

    1. AIOs, AI2's, Prefolds, fitted's, Flats or flips? AI2 generally.
    2. Pocket style, clip ins, Boosters or disposable inserts? Pockets!
    3. Bright colours, pastel colours, natrual tones, texture or patterns? All of the above! But definitely more bright colours
    4. Velco or snaps? Snaps are great!
    5. Organic or Not fussed? Not fussed, but has to be bamboo.

    1. AIOs, AI2's, Prefolds, fitted's, Flats or flips? lol I like a mix. Fitteds cause I LOVE woollies. But for convenience AIO's & AI2's. Flats for newborn [never used prefolds].
    2. Pocket style, clip ins, Boosters or disposable inserts? bamboo & microfibre boosters.
    3. Bright colours, pastel colours, natrual tones, texture or patterns? The funkier the better
    4. Velco or snaps? Velco cause it fits better. Snaps when I have [ I mean "had"] to.
    5. Organic or Not fussed? Not fussed

    1. Pocket multifits for day and fitteds with cover for night.
    2. As above and snap ins for fitteds
    3. Bright colours definitley, that's the best part about using cloth all the great patterns and designs out there, you just want to show them off! Most of the MCNs DS uses are just single colours in minkee fabric but also have a cow print and a few other patterned ones bugs, planets, frogs etc.
    4. Snaps, I do like velcro as you have more wiggle room with fit but with snaps you can just chuck in the wash and forget not have to worry about the velco getting ruined.
    5. Not fussed really but all the nappies I use have bamboo or hemp boosting simply for the better absorbtion, not a fan of microfibre.
