Check ups, cleans, easy extractions and fillings and they can do referrals to orthodontisits if needed.
My boys have the dental van that comes to school once or twice a year but if you have a school close by with a clinic you can ring them to make an appointment.
I have done this a few times as one of my boys doesnt like to let go of his baby teeth. His adult teeth grow in behind and he looks like a shark! Its all done on medicare so I dont have any out of pocket expenses.
they are in place so children get dental care...some children dont go to the dentist as their families cannot afford it so having the dental clinic at schools makes sure their teeth are in good condition.
I praise the dental van that came to my primary school as I fell when i was in grade 4 and needed a root canal and they did it for me all free. I cannot speak highly enough if them
Sorry, I'm not from Australia and DD has only started now in Kindy so this is the first time I have seen them. DD has some black on her teeth that I want to get seen to so can I go there and I won't pay for it? Sorry, I'm new to this.
If she goes to the school, then no, you won't pay for it, from memory.
So glad to hear they still do this! I thought it had gone the way of kids walking themselves to and from school, playing footy in the street and all those other fabulous things we did in the 80s! lol
Dental van came once a term to Virginia State School - we all hated it But such a good idea!
