Last year I didn't claim everything on DH's tax return as I wasn't aware of everything we could claim for him so our tax agent is doing an adjustment and relodging his tax return with a lower taxable income.
So I am wondering if I can get Centrelink to recalculate our FTB and Childcare % and 50% refund out of pocket as we would be entitled to more money back or is it too late?
If it's not to late how would I go about doing this?
the link with the ATO stays active for about three years i think - so once your amended lodgement goes in, it will recalculate everything automatically
you're welcome
be prewarned - it will be messy - if you're entitled to more money, you'll get a top up of ftb, and a top up of ccb. BUT, because you get more ccb, you have then been overpaid CCR, so they have to create a debt for that, and take it out of your ccb top up.
so, if you're entitled to another 100 for ccb, it means you have 100 less in out of pocket costs, so you've been overpaid ccr by 50 (half of the ccb amount you got topped up) so you'll only get your ccb top up of 50
