sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but ive been trying to work out how to put an avatar up any chance someone could help?? thanks in advance

Hi, as far as I understand you need to be a paid member to have an avvy.

The girls are right you need to be a platinum member, if you go to SETTINGS (top right toolbar) then on the left hand side under MY SETTINGS you will see PAID SUBSCRIPTIONS.
If you want to join it has the options and prices there, once it has been accepted you will then have access to the PLATINUM & LIFE MEMBERS section and it will tell you how to organise an Avatar.. HTH
