    Can I substitute...

    ...cream cheese for cottage cheese?

Only just realised I bought cream cheese when this pasta bake recipe calls for cottage cheese! Does it matter?

I would think cream cheese would make a really nice creamy sauce for a pasta bake, but I haven't actually tried it...

Hope it works out for you.

I think cream cheese would be heaps yummier than cottage cheese!! Not as low fat though.

What else is in it? Does it call for the creamier store bought cottage cheese or the lumpier stuff? I'd say you probably could, but cream cheese (I assume Philly, nom) has a lot more of a prominent flavor than cottage. I'd go for it if you don't think it will overwhelm the bake. Yum, cream cheese when it melts goes really yummy and goey. Good luck!
