I had an uneven wedding party. I had 3 BM's and Dh had 2GM. We didn't have any issues. When we walked back down the aisle 1 BM took the kids in the bridal party and the others paired up. There wasnt an issue for photos either, I didn't have any photos of BM and the GM paired up but I'm not really into that kind of thing anyway.
I had an even one as well. I had my sister and best friend as my bridesmaids. DH had just his brother as best man and that's all.
The two girls walked back down the aisle after the ceremony with the best man. One bridesmaid on each arm! Lucky boy lol.
Photos didn't look odd at all. We got a some good ones of the girls and the best man together.
We spread out along the bridal table at the reception so it didn't look like there was a spare seat. For the bridal party dancing, my sister danced with the best man and my best friend danced with her partner.
When are you getting married? Maybe you could have your son with the BM and he could be "IN" the bridal party so it would be two boys and two girls!!! Just a thgouht I dont think it matters if there is an odd number!!!!!
I evened it up! DH had his parents and best man, I had my parents, 2 bridesmaids and an usher. The Usher evened up the boys and girls (although I would have had him anyway - he wasn't in loads of official photos, but did sit at the top table).
The best photo I have is with me and DH, the best man and 2 bridesmaids around the cars in front of the castle. It looks like it should be in a magazine, it came out that well! I never thought it looked odd because of an odd number.
I was in my best friends wedding many years ago now and she had three bridesmaids but her DH had just two groomsmen. The matron of honour and the best man were together in most photos while me and the other bridesmaid shared the groomsman, if that makes sense. When it came to the bridal waltz, I danced with the brides brother as I'd known him for years and he was all suited up so he looked the part.
I was an only bridesmaid in a wedding a few years ago and there were 2 groomsmen. It worked okay - the photographer had to be a bit more creative I think, but I love the photos from that wedding and think she did a fabulous job making them look even and balanced. As far as things like walking back up the aisle, I had a groomsmen on either side of me (thankfully it was a wide aisle). We all danced with our own partners for the bridal waltz rather than just the bridal party.
