    9mth old daughter not eating

I need help please from someone........anyone.

My daughter has never been a great eater but over the last two weekes she has gotten worse. it is a huge struggle to get her to eat any solid food and is now going off her bottles as well.

Any suggestions on what i should do. do you think i should take her to see a doctor? she went 8.5hrs with out a solid feed or a bottle, surly this cant be normal? is it?

any advice would be a great help.

The only time my DS has ever refused to eat was when he was sick - so I would definitely get her checked out.

my DS is the same as CF's - and has only ever gone off his food if sick. even if he's teething & doesn't want solids, he still usually wants his BFs. if your gut is telling you something is wrong, then it'd be worth getting her checked out, even if it is just for your peace of mind. is she still drinking water?

i'm not sure whether it's normal to go so long without eating - i only have my DS to compare it to & he's not a huge eater but does snack/have small meals regularly.

My DD isn't a big eater but she does have snacks like fruit or yoghurt or corn cakes - do you mean 8.5hrs without any food or drink at all??

I think it might be worth asking someone...

OceanPrincess, yes i do mean 8.5hrs with out, and she only had a bottle (150mls) when i struggled and followed her around the house with the bottle in hand.

Sloane, she will drink a little water but not nearly as much as she normally would.

Thanks for all your help, i think i might give the Doc a call in the morning and TRY to get an appointment.

I have a pretty fussy eater (when she actually eats something) and I find she will stop eating altogether and some times refuse BF or a bottle when she is getting a tooth. The other thing she will do is 'eat' some food but leave it in her mouth and it comes out over then next half hour or so. I'm not saying that is necessarily what I think is going on and it is wise to get a GPs opinion but just throwing it out there as a possibility.

my DD2 can be fussy but when she refuses all food then it usually cause she has a sore throat/ears/teeth. It doesn't hurt to go to the Dr to check that everything is ok. GL
