Possible drop to one income - would we get Centrelink support?
Hi all,
We are facing a possible drop to one income as my DH might be made redundant. We've never been able to access centrelink before so I have less than a clue about how it works.
Our situation is:
- I will go back to work full time. My wage will be around 78k per annum
- DH will get a payout of about 10k. He will stay home with bub.
- We have around 100k in the bank from a recent property sale. This was to be the deposit for a bigger place.
- We currently have a mortgage on our apartment. It's worth around 470k.
Would we be entitled to any of the family tax benefits?
We never claimed the baby bonus - would we get that?
If DH stays home with bub full time and is therefore unemployed, does he have to register for Newstart?
So sorry that your DH may be made redundant . I would hop on their website and they have calculators on there which will tell you what if anything you are entitled too. Your wage is similiar to Dh's and we don't get much at all (about $30 fortnight). Hopefully BG will see this and help out.
I'm pretty sure they take into account your assets and your savings as well. We aren't entitled to anything due to a few reasons.
Also I think you only have six months to claim your baby bonus??? could be wrong but I'm pretty sure there's a time frame.
he wont get parenting payment or newstart with your wage. You should be entitled to some FTB I imagine. You should go to the Rate Estimator on the Clink website.
