I had a VBAC 18 months ago. Im due next year and wondering if I should expect to come up against any hassle for a 2nd vbac. I didnt think it should make a difference, but I was told by the GP I saw last week that one of the hospitals in my area would take me but I would have to have another C.section.
And does anyone know if the risk of Uterine Rupture is still as much of a issue? Does the % risk stay the same or drop or get higher after a first vbac?
I *think* it stays the same, after all, you still have been cut ITMS? However, it should be different because your scar has been tested, so really, there's no need for a trial of scar, cos its been trialled before - probably doesn't work like that though.
I know that if I went to the hospital down here, they would still make me have a c-section - no chance at a vaginal birth. Which is why I'm not going to that hospital!
I'd say some hospitals are like mine down here, and some are more accepting, depends on the hospital. All you can do is ask!
If your hospital has already let you have one VBAC I cannot see why they wouldn't let you have a second one. You've already proven that you are a great canditate for VBAC seeing as you've already succeeded at it once
There is still a risk, I was talking to my ob last week and he is happy for me to try for another vbac but he won't induce me and I will be prepped for a c sect jic. I have talked to dh about it too and he will back me up if they start talking about a c sect.
