help me get rid of FLEAS!!

I have in the past (pre children) used a flea bomb, but I am VERY hesitant to use one now with Jacob running around.

I have a cat who seems to be continually re infested with fleas, have just used capstar tabs on her, also frontline/advantage stuff once a month, I think the real problem is in the back yard..

BUT the problem now is that the house seems to be infested! Jacob had 2 of the buggers on him yesterday, and I have noticed quite a few bites on him that I assume are flea bites, I have also seen them in the loungeroom, I think because we are using the heater now, they are coming out??

How can I get on top of this? I am a bit wary of using chemical pesticide type stuff but if its all thats going to work then I guess I will have to.

Has anyone been through this? any suggestions, hints or tips for me?
Do I need to wash EVERYTHING?

I am pretty sure the loungeroom and hallway are the BIG problem areas, I have been Vaccuuming daily but it doesnt seem to be doing much...
    Please help!!

Hiya - Fleas can be such a big problem. Sadly I don't know of any natural remedies once they are in the home. It only takes one flea to start an infestation and they can lay dormant for quite a while so you may have treated the cat but if you don't treat the home then you haven't stopped the cycle.

Could you maybe let the bombs off and instead of the couple of hours that you are supposed to leave the house go for the entire day or maybe spend the night at a friends/parents/in-laws.

Sorry I'm not much help and hopefully someone will come on with a natural way to treat the house. Hope you get it sorted out soon.

    thanks for your reply!

I am thinking I may just have to pack up the loungeroom, wash everything, flea bomb the place and move out for a day or two urghhhh!!!
