My recent experience with the 8 week immunisations

    Hi

I took my baby in to get her 8 week immunisations a few weeks ago. 1.5 hours after the immunisations she had what seemed like a convulsion ie she stiffened up like a board for a few seconds and then became very upset. That happened twice in the space of 15 minutes. I rushed her to our local GP who basically said that she didn't have a convulsion because she didnt lose consciousness and didnt have a raised temp and that it wasn't related to the immunisations. SO I went home thinking that I imagined the whole thing. Later that evening she did it again about 3 or 4 times so I took her to emergency. The ED said that she wasn't having convulsions and that it wasn't related to the immunisations she received that day. I took my baby home full of self doubt thinking that I have been silly and that I have overreacted and imagined the whole episode. A few weeks later out of the blue the baby stiffed up again and had, what I now know as, multiple rigours/petit mals.

I took her to a friend who is an excellent GP who has a naturopath as part of her practice. They both said that what has happened was caused by the immunisations and that they have seen thousands of cases with some ending up with brain damage. The naturopath has encouraged me to read as much as I can about immunisations before considering going further with any more vaccinations.

I am angry that I just followed the herd and immunised my child without being made properly aware of the risks. I am angry that the GP and ED just shrugged it off and made me think that I imagined the whole thing.

The baby and I are now taking various things to undo the damage caused by the immunisation but if I could just encourage people to made an informed decision before immunising their child.

Oh dear I hope your poor baby is ok...

I feel the same way that you do. It is such an important decision for a parent to make the choice to immunise their child or not and it is such a shame that alot of people do not put the thought or research into something as important as this. After allowing my bub to have the 2 month immunisation (which i wish i had taken the time out to research more before i had it done.. i am so angry at myself for being persuaded by others to get it done!) i have chosen not to immunise my baby but did not make this choice lightly. I did alot of research and was horrified by the facts i found out, and that so many people do not know about them!

My daughter (10 yrs) was fully immunised as a baby. I was young and did what i was told.. followed the herd. If i had known then what i know now then there is no way i would have had her immunised either.

Thanks for posting this, and goodluck with your decision.
