heres one i use i love it, does take a little elbow grease but most ovens do!

    5tbsp baking soda
3 drops hand soap or liquid dish soap
    4 tbsp white vinegar

Mix above ingredients until they form a thick paste. Apply paste to inside of oven and scrub with sponge. Wipe clean and rinse thoroughly.

Ahurani you are absolutely right in being concerned about the nasty chemicals in most cleaning products and the effect they would have on your developing baby, especially at this time in your baby's development (I notice you are 8 weeks pregnant). Congratulations!!

A number of studies in the last 10 years have shown that chemicals cross the placenta and effect the developing baby. A few years ago 10 American babies had their cord blood tested for 413 toxic chemicals. They found 287 chemicals with an average of 200 chemicals in each baby at the time of their birth. Google the video 10 americans.

I felt exactly the same when I was TTC and it took me a long time to find something I was happy with (which translates into something that worked) and was 100% chemical free (not just mostly or with low grade chemicals). A few years ago I came across a company called Nature Direct at the Melbourne Baby Expo and have used their products ever since. I can't recommend them highly enough.

The best thing we can all do for our children is give them the healthiest start to life that is possible. Not a toxic pre-polluted one. I truly wish that more parents felt as you do.

I generally use bicarb and vinegar too - I just mix the bicarb into a paste with water and rub it on the oven then spray with vinegar and water mix and leave for a bit - wipe clean.

I'f I'm lazy though (cos it does involve a bit of elbow grease) - I just get DH to do it
