    Dishwashers

How long does your take to complete a normal cycle? We moved into this rental and I was really excited about having a dishwasher however i'm not looking forward to the electricity bill since it's taking upwards of 5 hours to complete a normal cycle. I'm sure this isn't normal but I can't find anywhere to download the manual from the net. Waiting for a rely from whirlpool.

I think ours is around 1-1/2 hours but that does a quick dry as well

5 hours is not normal. Our takes 60-90 mins

I'd not wait for a reply from them I'd tell the re there's a problem wihbit and get them on to it. It's not essential though so might not be a priority for them

Yeah - sent an email to the real estate this morning asking them to arrange someone to come out (rather email as I have a record then )

    Ours is about 70 minutes.
Since the dishwasher was already there, it has to be in working order. 5 hours is definitely not normal though. I'd expect it to put my dishes away for that as well

5 hours! you must have one of those special ones that come with little cleaning fairies that clean and polish each dish by hand...

whoa..something is definitely wrong! On a normal cycle ours takes 111 minutes, if it's on eco rinse as well it takes 107 mins.
You wouldn't want any dishes in a hurry..lol

I have a rental and our dishwasher does that to, and yep it is broken. When we used it U had to go and manually turn the timing knob to get it to advance, and then the element went. It's a PITA. They have to fix it as it came as part of the house, doesn't matter if it is not deemed a priority.

On ours, the display says 220 for the normal mode. No idea if that's 2 hrs 20 mins, or 220 mins, which works out to be 3 hrs 40 mins I think. It's a pretty new bosch. Is yours accidentally stuck on an intense setting or something? I'll put a load on now (thanks for the motivation) and let you know if it's 2 hrs or almost 4 hrs. Five hours does sound like quite a long time...

ETA: Well, a glance at the display shows it actually says 2 hrs 20 mins.

Mine does a quick load in about 45 mins. A normal load in 1hr 15 mins. Heavy duty (saucepans etc - everything here goes in the dishwasher lol) is about 2 hrs.

Five is definitely too long. Hope your REA gets back to you soon!

Our heavy duty wash takes 2 hours. I REALLY stack mine, so I use it less often, so that's the only function I use.

Hope they get back to you soon

    Whoa..5hrs is definitely not normal.
We have different cycles on ours and economy setting as well. So anywhere from 39min up to 2hrs for really dirty things (I have never used this setting).
