A little bit woohoo... and a little bit boohoo...

Yesterday was DD's 2nd birthday and with some encouragement (or leaning on) from the Bear, we went cold turkey with dummies and BF. She has been pretty good, there has been a fair bit of asking for "onage dadum" (orange dummy) and "noo noos" (bf) but she has been pretty good about it. She has been a bit of a crack addict with the dummy lately and either that or a BF is something she always asks for when she is a bit bored, so it is going pretty well so far considering.
Last night the Bear put her to bed and she went to sleep without either just fine and slept through until 5.30. I just put her to bed, and it was a bit of a struggle tonight because I would always give her a BF and a dummy. But she went to sleep in the end and is fast asleep now.
I was ready to stop BF - well intellectually anyway. I am happy but it is hard seeing my little baby girl grow up so fast
Two years to the day ....

You have given me hope in getting rid of my DD's dummies.

    Happy birthday to your DD.

Pixie chick you have done such an awesome awesome job , so proud and a lil' bit jealous

What a ripper effort to say goodbye to the dummies and bbs all in one hit! DD still has the dummy when she goes into her cot.

The ending of a BF'ing journey can be so difficult, such an amazing bond and sustaining the gorgeous Beth for so long is an awesome achievement

I think you should celebrate by buying some new bra's!!!

Congratulations on such awesome BFing!!! What an achievement!
Way to go on getting rid of the dummy too.

My boy still has his dummy. I dunno how he'll go ( and me too ) when we go cold turkey. Haven't decided when yet though.

I hope Beth had a wonderful birthday.

No choice on that one! 2 years and ten months later I have gone back to my original bra size... but I threw out all my old bras over a year ago!

What's really weird Tenny is that it was almost easier for me to give up BF than the dummy
ps I'm sure Haydie will be fine after a few days....

Wow hun, it's great that it was so easy. Probably a sign that you were both ready.

Just a tip for you - don't buy too many new bras just yet, I found it took a couple of months at least for my bra size to settle.

Now if only it was that easy to stop thumb sucking!
