We had our first child in August last year, so this was our first year receiving any centrelink benefits. I have a few q's about what happens at tax time?
DH has done his tax and I think we over-estimated our income to CL by probably only a couple of thousand dollars... do we get any back or it doesn't work like that?
A friend told me that when you have a child you get a payment at tax time each year for them, but I can't find reference to it anywhere on CL website, does anyone know anything about this?
Also, do our payments go up once the new baby is born, or is it the one payment regardless of the amount of children you have?
FYI - we receive FTB part B.
Thanks in advance, I did ask DH's accountant but he was super unhelpful and just told me to google it
Here is the Parents/Guardian section for Centrelink Parent or guardian you'll be able to view what payments you may be entitled to. On the homepage of the Centrelink website is a calculator, where you can estimate what you may be entitled to.
