What tantrums have you had today?

    This morning we've had the:

    • I want to bite the dogs and dad won't let me
    • I want to jump on mummy's belly and dad won't let me
    • I want mummy to speed past the other car on the road
    • I want to go to the playground
    • I want ... hold on, I forget
    • I want a ride on the shopping centre firetruck that moves
    • I want to go down the escalator
    • I don't want to go down the escalator
    • I want you to buy that brand of yogurt
    • I don't want that lady to buy that container of washing detergent that I've never seen before
    • I don't want those people to buy a block of cheese
    • I want my lunch
    • I don't want lemons
    • I want lemons
    • I don't want my seatbelt on

These will very soon be followed by "i don't want to deal with any more tanties"

So what classics have you had today? And do you think that my little man may be needing a nap?

DD has woken up sooo grumpy from her sleep, probably because she was barely asleep for 30 minutes! Going to be a long afternoon...first tantrum was I don't want to get out of my cot..then when I put her back in she wasn't happy with that either!

Lol! Sounds like the past couple of days I have had Kaz! At the moment we're screaming the house down because we don't want a nap even though we are falling asleep in the lounge room. So we're screaming. Doing the usual "I don't care". Before it was a tantrum cause her shoe wasn't going on her foot properly. Never mind the fact she was trying to put the wrong shoe on the wrong foot. I know i've had a really good one past couple of days that actually made me LAUGH cause it was just soooo silly... but I cant remember what it was.. think I blocked it out hahaha

I don't have toddlers but have had some doozy tantrums today because we've been doing housework.

I don't want to clean my room
I'm not picking up anything that isn't mine
Why do I have to clean?
I want to go to Aunties house......it goes on....

I don't want to get out of the swimming pool
    I want Daddy's drink

Today's actually not been that bad at all We have days with rarely any, and then we have days when anything can be disatrous and cause a major meltdown!

As a rule Jordy doesn't tanty much at all, but the other day he had a blowout that lasted a full hour because he wanted to do more poo on the toilet even though he was finished and it was time for a nap. It just went on and on and kept escalating, to the point where I ended up bundling him into a nappy and sleepsuit and just put him to bed. I woke him up 3 hours later and I think we were both so shell shocked that we sat cuddling on the couch for about 20 minutes in silence

We had an hour long tanty and I still don't know why ... I think she had a sore toe ... it was hard to eat dinner with the wailing banshee from hell 3 feet away. After that she ate her dinner nicely and went and had a bath and you'd never know it happened.

Usually we get little tanties whenever we say no for any reason, especially if she's trying to help and we say no (don't really need help with a hot oven, for example) but then she's a grump and anything will set her off when she's tired. I got a huge tantrum once because I told her not to hang the clean socks I'd just taken off the clothes airer back on.

Dd had one overnight about a week ago but she wouldn't tell us what was wrong, she was really upset and angry but refused to talk when we asked what was wrong. Not something I want to repeat.

Well thank god for kindy ay .. cause i've had the F word thrown at me today! As well as MINE don't touch! Go away! Then the best tantrum of all was Ava saying "mummy drinky boobies" ... err she's 2.5 years old and hasn't been breastfed since she was 10 weeks old.. so where she's got that from I dont know. But anyway I said no, obviously. And she hit the wall screaming PLEASE drinky boobies! lol it went on and on and on and on!

A whole big tandie the whole day. I am working from home and mum babysitting DD and all she wants is me to scratch her (for hours and hours) and hold her.

"I want milk" "its too hot" "its too cold" "I dont want milk anymore" (repeat this throughout the day)

ALthough, she does have a throat infection so i cant get angry at her for that.

This may sound like a horrible thing to say, but I am so happy to see this thread! Miss T has been throwing tanties a lot lately... I haven't really had this before and having been feeling like I am doing something wrong. It has been getting my down soooo much! I'm doing my very best to stay positive with her and take a BIG breathe when I feel like I'm about to snap.... So what I'm getting at is I guess everyone goes through this with their little people at some stage?!

    Our Tanties today have been
-"I wanna go swimming"... We go to swimming, "I don't want to go swimming, I want to go home"
-"Please have some bikkies mum.... not them ones, YES THEM ONES MUMMY"
-"I want to watch H in the bath", 'Sure just keep the door closed please' door opens "I want to go out", 'ok just close the door behind you, "No I wanna stay mummy" as she throws herself to the ground..... Good fun!

In her defence she is not well atm, got a rechard cold, poor the little thing.

Thank you for starting the thread Kazbah, I'm feeling a little more like a 'normal' parent now!
