Tooth cut through halfway down gum...please help!

DS cut 2 bottom teeth at 6 months and has been showing teething signs again in the last week. I have been applying bonjela to his top gums thinking they would cut through next but I had noticed his bottom gums were quite white, like I could see the teeth through the gum ITMS?

Today I felt along the gum at the bottom and the tooth has cut through but it is halfway down the gum; I have spoken to some friends with LO's but no-one else has had this happen and I really don't know what to do now? I'm worried that if it cuts all the way through then it won't be able to move up to where it's supposed to be, but don't see how we can stop it coming through more.

Sorry, this is a bit jumbled, I am stressed out! Anyone with similar experiences or suggestions on what I should do?

    Hey Happy Chick,
Sorry, I can't say this has happened with us but I would say if you are concerned then maybe try and get your DS into your GP to have a look?

The other thought I had was if you give your local dentist a call and just speak to them over the phone (if they will do that?). Or maybe go in and ask for someone to have a quick look?

Sorry, not very helpful I suppose - but good luck and I hope it's nothing serious!!

Go to the dentist. If you have private health insurance they usually cover 100% cost of kids dental visits. Try to see a paediatric dentist (ie specialising in kids dental health). If you are on the Sunshine Coast I can recommend one in Buderim.

Thanks for your replies I am a worrier so this is stressing me out. I also feel bad that DS must have been in a lot of pain and although I was putting bonjela on, I was putting it on his top gums
I rang a friend and she recommended a dentist so I called and explained what was going on and they fit me in for an appointment on Friday morning. I hope that it is all ok
    Thanks again

turtleschell, I took DS to the dentist who told me that he is ok It is only a very small part of the tooth that's cutting through and he seems to think that the tooth will end up cutting through where it's supposed to.

I hope this makes you feel better as I know I was quite worried. The dentist told me that while it's very common for teeth to cut through in the 'wrong' order, it is very uncommon for there to be any serious issues such as the tooth cutting all the way through in the wrong spot ITMS? It made sense the way he explained it to me

I'm so glad you posted this, Yesterday I noticed one of Daytona's top teeth has finally pierced the gum but it is half way up the gum.... Lucky I remembered about your thread and was able to come back in to check what your dentist said!!! This must be something more commen then we thought!! So glad all is ok!

They will move into the correct place! A couple of mine have cut teeth out of the usual order and they look like they are in the wrong spot but they ended up finding the right place. Usually when the next teeth came through
