    How do you value books?

Even though I've worked in books for years, pre Mummy days, I've never really known where to go to get books valued. I have a few special first editions and I'm curious as to their worth.

Any suggestions would be wonderful, thanks.

I'd try Kay Craddocks in Collins Street?

I used to work for an Antiquarian Book store in Perth... she valued books all the time. I'd Google "antiquarian, books, Melbourne".

Do they have to be old books to be valued by an antiquarian? The books I want valued are a set of hardcover Tomorrow When The War Began series, all signed by John Marsden, all with dust jackets, and I have three first edition Harry Potters.

Not sure how old they have to be. We sold books that were out of print... I think that was the main criteria... They certainly weren't all old though. Maybe just give someone a call. Let us know how it goes!

I contacted Kay Craddock's but they said they don't do it, and put me onto Grant's Bookshop in Prahran, so waiting to hear from them.
