    Question Sugar Soap

So... our house settled yesterday... Apparently its not common practice to clean your house before you move out when you sell and its also common practice to LEAVE crap at the house.. wth is that about? I've got a pile of tyres, a swing set, fencing, a crappy cupboard, bags upon bags upon bags of insulation.. anyway.. that's another rant lol (but seriously wtf) so what I want to know is, because my whole day thursday is going to be taken up with cleaning this place before I can unpack anything (yes, that is how bad it is) Is sugar soap safe to use during pregnancy? A gf of mine this morning told me its 'toxic' I had no idea... I just ... yeah always used sugar soap when moving... so can I use it ?? otherwise it's gonna have to be dishwashing liquid not the same.

Yeah I've looked up the MSDS downloads on the website and I can't see that its bad (unless your drinking it) and it doesn't say anything about pregnancy....

Apparently your also suppose to wear gloves when using it.. I never have always just thought it was soap kwim

I think you have to wear gloves as it is much harsher than regular soap and therefore can be a real irritant to the skin. Can't imagine it would be a problem in pregnancy and I can only suggest bicarb/vinegar as a substitute if you wanna be 'safe' in pg and green. Not sure how well bicarb can stack up next to sugar soap for ease and result though...

What a bugger. How can people do such a thing, have they no pride?

I sooo don't understand! Dp was a bit cranky with me cause I was really cranky about it. But come on, im forking out 460 bucks for a bond cleaner for where I am (which is compulsary when renting i know) but, they left so much crap there! I would never do that! There is that much crap there (aside from the general cleaning, like apparently cleaning the drain in your bathtub, or picking up the bit of soap off the shower floor is not something you do) that im gonna have to get like a skip bin ya know

that happened to me to KL. It really P!sses me off that some people have no consideration. When I was a kid we moved into a house and the other kids had to live with my grandparents while we decomtaminated the new place. We had to take a paint scraper to the toilet it was so bad. I think sugar soap is ok to use when pg if in doubt wear gloves when scrubbing.

Far out That's just disgusting. Is there any way the real estate agent can tell them to come and pick it all up?

The same thing happened here, the inside of the house was spotless but they crammed a whole heap of rubbish underneath the house, I'm talking boxes, empty bottles and cans, tyres, bags of general household rubbish etc and left the garden shed full of crap. We spent ages cleaning it out.
