Question Significant Increase in Dummy use and Dribble rash as a result

DS (about to turn 17months) has become super dummy reliant. He only really used it before when he was tired, but now that he is active he will go looking for his dummy and whinge and cry when he cant find one. I think the reliance increased as he recently got two top molars (his first molars), he has his 8 front teeth (four top & bottom), but I am not happy with the overuse of the dummy as he talks less etc

We have started putting them out of reach (and sight) and trying to distract him in other ways so hopefully this will soon change, but in the mean time he has a bit of a nasty red dribble rash on his chin where the dummy has been sitting against his chin (obviously with drool in between). What's a good remedy to clear that up?

    Cheers in advance
    Naomi

Ive always just put pawpaw cream on DS or DD's dribble rash. Also acts as a bit or a barrier. Always clears up in a day or 2.
