My DD who has just turned 3 has been toilet trained for about a month - day and night though night time we still have some wet mornings. I figured because she wasn't having accidents during the night then it would be just a matter of time before she learnt to go to the toilet when she woke up.
Anyway today was the worst day ever for accidents - 4 times she weed/pooed in her undies. They weren't accidents either where she was trying to make it to the toilet and left it too late. Just blatant disregard for going to the toilet. I know you're not meant to get cross when this happens but to be honest I thought she was being quite naughty not going to the toilet, even when I asked her to and then weeing 5 minutes later.
I am quite surprised by her behaviour today as she has been pretty good in the past few weeks (accidents occasionally but nothhing major) so I looked it up and was wondering if she could actually have a UTI and therefore can't help the weeing?
If not and it's just a bad day what do you sugest? I have put her in a pull-up tonight which she was quite happy to wear (other nights she refuses).
Is she distressed at all when wee'ing? when DD had a UTI she said her vag1na was hurting, but not all the time, it was intermittent, and not always when she peed. Having said that my cousins DD had a UTI with no symtoms other then weeing in her pants, so maybe it's worth getting a urine sample checked for a UTI. UTI's can be nasty in kids and worth investigating IMO.
