Im thinking about doing a distance education course, want to get a qualification so when i do go back to work after this next baby i can actually do something i enjoy.
Im thinking of doing a nutrition course, there are degrees etc out there or i could start by doing a cengage cert, though its not actually a recognised course. And maybe specialise in sport nutrition or something.
Any one else doing/done a distance ed course with kids in tow....
All the Uni's are starting to have their open days now and enrollments are open for next year so maybe you could have a look at a few uni's and see what other options you might have? I'm doing my B.Ed through UNE by distance ed and it's working out great for me so far. UNE is one of the leaders for disance ed though and they have online discussion boards for all external students, so you don't feel like you are all on your own with it. It can be tricky at first finding the right balance between study and family but it doesn't take long to find your groove. It's definitely worth it though. I've found it really rewarding.
I didn't have kids in tow but I did work full time whilst studying full time.
I did majority of my law degree externally and i'm now doing my Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice by distance- it's tough, but it's doable - and it all comes down to discipline (for yourself, not the kids ;-))
There are so many options out there now - which is fantastic - I'm sure you'll find something just right :-) Good luck :-)
