I swam like a fish in my last pregnancy....I don't see anything wrong with it...the baby will still come out! I say just enjoy it!![]()
i went to the pool with DD for the first time since it has started warming up and i was just wondering if its ok this close to the end.
i mean its not going to pull him upwards is it if he was engaged?
i know that sounds really stupid but its just that the water takes so much pressure off the rest of ur body so didnt know wat it would do for bubs.

It's EXCELLENT exercise- don't stress![]()
I did ante natal aqua aerobics and swam right up til a few days past my EDD..... floating around was such a relief on my tired body! I believe it's fine anytime up til when your waters break. Enjoy![]()
Swimming is fine at any stage of your pregnancy.
I was still swimming at 39 weeks and doing a km at a time - the only thing you can't do is backstroke.
Swimming, especially breaststroke or any belly down floating is great for optimal positioning
I thinkits also great for your mental state, as you feel "normal" again. The weightless effect is fantastic and you can move any way you want
My daily swim or float depending on my mood got me through 4 weeks of prelabour. I always had contractions as I got out of the pool but driving home bub would turn posterior again and they'd stop!
ENJOY
thanks everyone. sorry my post must of sounded so stupid lol
Besides my last pregnancy, I swam with all of my pregnancies, and with DS2 I was swimming the day before he was born. I loved it and I know I will be doing it again this pregnancy as I am due with another summer bub.
Enjoy your swims![]()
I did too. I did go in to labor mid aqua class though, but it was all good, awesome pain relief even though the physio was a bit scared! tehehe
ETA: I should qualify that. I was 3 days overdue so would have gone in to labor anyway, it wasnt the aqua class. I did 2x per week classes from 12 weeks for both of my pregnancies, on my midwife and GPs recommendation.
