BLS and gagging

Iv been doing BLS which we are loving and so is DD..

Its only happened twice but DD has started gagging and then some food has come out of her mouth like it was caught or semi caught in her throw and she dislodged it ?

I know its rare to choke and we watch her when she eats ,never leave her alone..But its just started to freak me out and scare me ,how often is gagging normal?
Could she choke?

I dont wana stop ,i guess i just need some reasurance (sp) im just scared of choking now

I have that BLS book on order and is on its way to me as well

Gagging is normal, they are learning what to do with the food. DD2 gags on mashed potato and rarely on anything BLS wise - so figure that one out!! LOL... strange child of mine...

I've never had a bub of mine choke from BLS, only from a piece of orange when DS was about 3 He put too much in his mouth and started choking.

I guess it kinda really scared me coz it seemed like a bit more than gagging IYKWIM? like it sounded like it was semi in her throat i dunno i mean she was fine she caughed and the food fell out of her mouth..it was zuchini and cauli both times it happened

She is sitting her eating banana now and loving it i realy do love BLS

I haven't started yet babe but am worried about the same thing happening. The book says that babies gag reflexes are really close to the front of their tongue (it goes back over time) so they themselves can prevent any food from going further back and properly choking. Remember, proper choking is when there is no sound as they have blocked their wind pipe. As long as she is coughing and making sound then you're ok.
