Terry flats and poo explosions

I love terry flats, except when DD poos in them, I'm guaranteed to have a big mess, even when using a liner.
Somehow all the poo ends up on the outer front of the nappy! WTH? Of course, it's all contained by the cover (I just use the cheap PVC pants) but still, it's so messy and it means I need lots of covers coz they have to be fully washed all the time and she poos frequently.
Isn't there a way I can fold it so that the poo stays where it's meant to, and not on the outside? I tuck the leg bits in as tight as I can. I'm using the triangle thick middle pad fold.
She has a really tiny bum...
Any ideas would be appreciated, I'm just too tired to clean up so much crap (literally haha)

Have to say I've never had a poo explosion with a terry cloth nappy, and that's all we use. Mind you I don't think she has ever done gigantically huge #3 style poos so that might have something to d owith it...lol.

The way i fold mine is like a kite, so diagonal corners into the middle, then fold the top triangle of the kite down, and bring the tail of the kite up. I don't know if that will make much sense to you, but I'm pretty sure the 'official' name for it is the kite fold so google might have a better explanation

Look up the corners fold. I use that most of the time and it contains most poops as you can get it nice and snug around the legs.

Yep, she might have outgrown the triangle pad fold. Give the kite fold a go.
