How long after chemical pregnancy did it take to get your period again?

Hi girls,

As most of you know I had my first IVF ICSI cycle last month which ended with a chemical pregnancy

I started to get a (warning TMI ahead!) brown discharge a month ago today. I hung around for about 7 days and then went away but I never actually got a proper period.

I had a few blood test while I had the discharge and they said that my level's were dropping until they went back to 0.

This morning I went to the toilet and when I wiped I had a very very light brownish discharge in my CM. I had it for a few hours and then it stopped, now I have nothing.

This is really unusual for me as normally when I get my period I get it with a bang and I have horrific back ache and a tummy ache, but I have none of that???

Hi Amy

Sorry to hear about your loss, I'm not sure either, I rarely ever have periods unless I'm on the pill or fertility treatment. But usually for me after a failed cycle because of all the hormones given to build up my lining I usually have a really heavy nasty period, so I do find it strange that you have only had a light discharge, I could be wrong though. It might be worth mentioning to your clinic and seeing what they say.

Hey amy after my miscariage i had a 38 day cycle, this was from when i first started bleeding (usually i have a 28 day cycle) my nurse told me this is very normal some women can take upto 6 weeks to get there next AF. I hope it comes very soon for you, are you very far over your due date?

One day - I was due a few days ago. I called my clinic today and they said that they want me to come in on Monday if I still havent got it to have another preg test. I did a FRER tonight though and it was neg so there is no way I will be.

Its just so annoying waiting.

So sorry to read about your first cycle ending so soon

The reason they may want to check your BT again is to see if your numbers are still 0. ( I think you said that they have been?)

My af has always been very irregular so I'm not sure if I can help with your question. Returning af after a cycle has also been wacky spotting here and here af being late or early. Maybe also get a swab done for infection as retained product (hate explaining it like that) could cause irregular spotting.

Oh Amy i know it must be so frustrating! are you starting this month or just keen for AF to arrive because she is late? I tink the nurses just like to make sure its all over, i had to keep going back in to after my miscariage until my level was back to 0, its horrible because i think we always hold hope that maybe our embie is still there even know deep down we know its a waste of time. Like i said my AF after my miscariage was 10 days late but then my last 2 have been spot on 28 days like normal so it will hopefully just be this one out of whack for you i hope she does comes soon for you xxx

One Day- We are going again in Nov so fx for next time. I just want AF to be here so I know everything is back to normal. I had my bloods done about a week after I got my low levels and it had gone back to 0.
