    Hair straighteners?

I lost my other thread I know there were a lot of you who loved the GHD but there were some recommendations for other straighteners & I can't remember what they were!

So, any recommendations for a good hair straightener?

To recap - Panda & I had one that we 'shared' (ie, lived in her room) - it died so we are looking at another.

I had a friend who said she could get hold of a GHD for about $150 I think, but that was 4 or 5 weeks ago & I haven't heard back from her yet.

There's a chemist near me that has a Vidal Sassoon for $35, but they also have VS straighteners for $80 & $150...

Help! I don't know what to get. Is it definitely worth paying more? Am I just throwing money away going for something cheap?

    TIA

I have remington wet to straight ( so you can use it when your hair is still wet). Bought it about 9yrs ago, for about $100. I think they're still about that price.

    Have fun!

I had one of them before my GHD, and honestly, they're just as good.

I think it depends on your hair too, my hair takes nothing much to straighten so i can get away with using cheaper ones, my mum has frizzier hair and i think my old GHD worked better then the cheaper one she has

Fleur we share one here too and ours has just broken, im not keen to spend $200 atm as we really cant afford it a few weeks before the wedding.
I was watching a review on tv recently by hairdresser JOh Bailey and recommended MiStyle Straightener which is around $40, im not sure what they are like or where you get it from but its worth a try.

I have a vidal sassoon Goddess and it is brilliant. I have really thick wavy hair and it straightens in no time. My straightener is shared with my 2 older kids who use it daily. I have had it for 2 years now and it is still as brilliant as the day I got it.

It's quite fine but think, and wavy, it used to be straight but hormones have wrecked my hair as well

I don't think I'd use it that often maybe once or twice a week, but Panda would definitely be using it everyday. And for me to use it in the morning before work, it would have to be quick, lol.

I brought a Babyliss mini one because I only have shortish hair but it has a really strong wave and once it gets to a certain length it flicks out all over the place and annoys me, so I got the Babyliss because I'd never had one before and wasn't keen on spending big $$ JIC I didn't like it. It's not too bad, but I need to go over my hair a few times to get it the way I want it but when I'm at my hairdressers' she uses a GHD and the difference is huge - the babyliss just doesn't do as good a job as the GHD. So I will persevere with it because there isn't anything wrong with it, but as soon as it dies I think I will get a GHD.

I have a diva and its awesome!! Its what alot of salons use.

Just a tip, you shouldnt really straighten your hair when its wet. Its very bad for it, hence why a hair dresser will blow dry completly before straightening it.
