    Umm, will fudge brownies rise?

Ok, i admit i am a terrible cook

I needed to make some cupcakes for my niece's 1st birthday party today and DF used all of the butter last night making some lemon slice.

I had a box mix of chocolate fudge brownies in the cupboard that didnt need any butter so i decided that i could just make those and cook them in cupcake patties.

I started having second thoughts though once i got them into the patties and put them in the oven, as they only cover about 1/3- 1/2 of the bottom of the patties. I have a terrible feeling that this isn't the kind of mix which is going to rise up and look nice in a cupcake patty is it?

Any hints on what i can do to fix this? How about i take them out of the patty cakes once done and pile the frosting on high in a swirl?

    TIA
