The article is a little old (Jan 2010) so I assume it's only made the news here now because it has been submitted to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (for Nov 2010 meeting) as a major submission. We'll probably need to wait and see what happens from that meeting, but according to the news last night Elonva would be available even if it wasn't on the PBS (for about $700 per injection). But having one injection per week instead of seven sure sounds worth it, especially to those of us who have been doing this quite a few times and are getting tired of it.
