Using a name very similar to DD1's middle name...

Our DD's middle name is 'Ava' and we are having issues agreeing on a name for DD2 who is due in about 3 months time. DH keeps bringing up 'Eva' for her first name, which I like as well, but I worry it will be too confusing with DD1 having a similar middle name. Would this be too weird?

I would go for it. How often do you call M by her entire name anyway?

One of my cousins is called Kyle and his sister has the middle name Kylie, so pretty similar but it never mattered.

And Eva sounds good with your DD1's name too.

I'd go for it. We had a guy at work who gave both of his daughters the middle name of Jade because they didn't like any other name!

You think? Thanks girls. This is DH's argument as well, its not like we ever call DD by her full name.

Marknjo - I think thats a cute idea to use the same middle name on both daughters. Hmm in my case, better not, Eva Ava haha. But that being said we have considered Jade as a middle name, as its mine too.

I will keep Eva on the growing list then

I think it will be fine too. Middle names rarely get used for anything and no one would ever make a comparison between the two girls I don't think.

I think its fine? DD1's middle name is Addisyn, which sounds similar to DS's name - Aricyn. I like the fact that they sound similar.

What I don't like is that my MIL is Alison, which sounds VERY close to Aricyn and I think that SHE thinks that we did that deliberately.. lol

I think it is perfectly fine. Eva is a beautiful name, and I love the combo Eva Jade.

Eva is gorgeous. I'm not 100% about it with your surname though - too many vowels?

My middle name is Linda, and both my parents wer ready to all my sister Belinda. They changed it a few hours after she was born though.

I think they are both great names, and really hw often do you call kids by full name?

    Go for it.

i know of a family who named their daughters Eva and Ava, not twins. I think that's a bit weird, but using Eva as a first name while having Ava as a middle name of DD1 is fine, i think. I actually think it's rather nice
