Question Toddler not eating much - phase??

DD is 22 month old and she used to be a really good eater! But the past week or so she just isnt interested in food and I have to fight to get her to eat at all!

She is other wise healthy and energetic and still has a lot of pooey & wet nappies and still drinks pleanty of water. She still runs and plays and sleeps well.

Is this a phase that toddlers go through? She will eat a bit of toast in the morning and some cheese for morning tea, maybe 1/2 a sandwhich at lunch then maybe some dry bickies at arvo tea then a few spoonfuls of tea or some cheese. I was weaning her off her morning and night cows milk bottle but I have been able to get them into her for the past few days so have not stopped.

She is healthy in eveyother way - but I will take her to the GP if need be.

Did anyone elses toddlers go through this phase??

    TIA
    Kate

Mine have all had phases like that. Won't touch a thing for days, then eat non stop for days!
Keep an eye on her, in case she's coming down with something, but IME, its pretty normal

Oh, ETA, my 8 year old still does it

Sounds like what my DD eats, except sometimes she doesn't want morning or afternoon tea. She too goes through phases of eating lots and then back to not much. Toddlers need a lot less than we think and it is often a cause of worry for mums i have found. I used to worry about it, but my daughter looks healthy, has lots of energy, good toilet habits and sleeps well. If one of those things were to change then i guess i'd begin to worry a little.

Your daughter could also be getting her 2 year old molars, which put my DD off food too.

    Thanks ladies!

I was thinking about her molars too as she used to be off her food when teething previiously. I have tried to feel for them but cant feel anything as yet but I guess they could be moving around a bit.

I will keep a close eye on her and see how we go! Thanks again!

Hey hun, DS is the same lately. He is the same age. I'm not worried at all - i know my boy and although it is really unusual for him not to eat when he goes through these phases it doesnt last long. I also might add that he just cut 2 of his 2 yo molars so that maybe another reason.

Yeah DD was the same (23.5 months) at around that age. Then about 2 weeks ago, all she has done is eat!! Though today its been abit dodgy in the food department. Shes had !/2 a peice of toast, a rice cake, a dim sim and... wait, thats it for today!! lol

Bella looks perfect hun and not underfed lol! im sure shes just fine and its a phase... just abit of a worrying one xx
