Visitors for me too lol. Also I love it when the sun is shining and the windows are open. Somehow that always inspires me to do a major clean.

    Yep, visitors, especially the in-laws.

And bugs. It's Queensland, so they go with the territory, but I still like to try and keep them out.

yeah visitors dont do it for me, if i worry about the house being clean for everyday visitors id go nuts with the kids toys being everywere, washing unfolded!! important ones like the realestate, well thats diffrent.
another biggy is if ive let it go for a couple of days and df comments it is starting to look like his mothers house, well that gets me moving!!!! (we dont visit so often as the kids then throw everything arround the house and strip there beds matresses and all off the frames, cussions off couches, u get the idea!) in no way will i be referd to as getting close to that!!!

Many things motivate me. If my mum calls and says shes coming over i know i have 10-15 mins to do a big clean up. Or i get that sick and tired of looking at the mess but usually cranking my music really loud. Which is what i am going to do today as i have a huge mess to clean up.

ETA: if DP pees me off that motivates me as being mad makes me scrub harder.

    Mmmm, yes visitors.
We also have friends who are particularly un-hygenic (to the point I don't use their toilet nor do I let my kids), so if we go over to their place, I find I have to come home and make my place sparkle!!

My cleaning bug is mess LOL! Seriously, I can't stand it when things aren't tidy. All surfaces need to be clear and clutter put away. I can't "clean" until I have tidied (if that makes sense) and don't ever start cooking until the kitchen is "clean". So dinner doesn't get started until the dishwasher is stacked and all benches cleared.

    In-laws.

But also buying something new for the house - can't incorporate a new thing in a dirty house! (latest example, new tv) :-)

    I need 3 things.

    1. An empty house
    2. To be extremely cranky [like a i am right now]
    3. LOUD music.

If I have all three I get a spotless house in about 4hrs.
