Most of the time its me kissing them usually on the forehead, cheeks etc. but today before she went to bed I said GIMME A KISS and it was a lip kiss. So cute. Were they debating if it was the thing to do or not?? I've never really thought about it before. J goes the whole mouth open fish kiss so I prefer to kiss him on the chubba cheeks than end up saturated
I think that's probably the issue - how do the kids know when it is okay NOT to accept a kiss on the lips? But in saying that, its so awfully cute when DD comes up to me for one!!
We are a family of kisses, LOL!! DD & DS are very into kisses at the moment. DD will tell you where she want her kiss where DS just come straight for you mouth open, drooling everywhere and slobbers all over your lips. It's just gorgeous!! I'm ok with family and extremely close friends kissing my kids but no one else.
My kids kiss me on the lips all the time, but I usually kiss them on their checks or forehead. I just feel a bit awkward. My parents had coldsores when we were growing up so I guess it's just habit that I don't. My parents managed to avoid giving us coldsores and I don't like other people kissing my kids on the lips for this reason though I think coldsore viruses can be passes on by kissing in general, not just on the lips.
Actually, I just remembered - DD1 sat on DH's lap the other day and asked for a kiss, which he gave her and she said 'No Daddy. Open your mouth.' DH was like no way. So she started trying to pry his mouth open with her fingers. It was sooooo funny.
Sorry a bit off topic, but thought I would share. Poor DH didn't know what to do
I seriously think the world is getting out of control with the cabbage they are coming out with
I kiss my littlies on the lips, man they aim me up! lol
My big kids [well 2 of them that aren't emarressed to kiss their Mum lol] kiss me on the cheek, and I kiss them on the cheek.
