    Front Facing Carriers

Can anyone recommend a front facing carrier at all.

I have been using my ergo for DD but she is now finding it too confining (just at that stage before walking when she wants freedom). I'm yet to try her on my hip with it - need to find my instructions. I tried her on my back and she wasn't too impressed, she also pulls hair, so thats not too comfortable for me. I was also worried that she would slip out, it just didn't feel safe yet. M is 9mo.

I was thinking that maybe if I could have her facing out she would happily sit in a carrier. Sometimes it's just a pain taking the pram out.

You'll be hard pressed to find a carrier that can be worn facing out that is comfortable with a 9 mth old - apart from Bjorns a Pikkolo (made by Catbirdbaby) can be cinched in for small babies and for front facing carries, but even with the support belt older babies will be heavy facing out (the centre of gravity is further away from the wearer and they put more strain on the wearer's back - regardless of the type of carrier). Hip carrying is preferable to front facing out if your baby likes to see but doesn't like back carries (although, if you wear her higher she'll probably like it more if she can see over your shoulder) - perhaps a dedicated hip carrier like the Scootababy would be a good option? They are super comfy and supportive and great for quick up and down carries.

I would also suggest the Hip Carry, if you cant find your instructions I would have a look on the website or even on youtube.. you can usually find good instruction videos on there. If you like I can always scan the instruction and email them to you : )

I've been wearing DD2 on my back for a few months now, and she loves it. I have a beetlebum half buckle, and she just looks over the top and side to side so it doesn't appear that she gets bored or anything. I also play with her feet if she looks like she's getting a little bit restless. I didn't really like the Ergo for back carries, I always thought my kids were going to fall out
