Planning a cruise with DH

Hi everyone

DH and I are planning to take a cruise for our 2 year wedding anniversary next year.

Anyone have any recommendations or perhaps want to share their experiences? I don't know anyone personally that has gone on a cruise (shocking huh!), so would appreciate any feedback.

We're thinking we might want to go to the pacific islands or something, maybe fiji or even New Zealand. Somewhere around Australia.

Yay for a cruise - I love cruising! We've done 2 and hope to do many more in the future. For our first we chose the South Pacific, as it's generally pretty calm sailing, and who can resist the crystal blue waters of New Caledonia?!

My advice is research the different companies and ships, all ships are different and I've found they attract different types of cruisers. I'll pm you a link to forum we found quite handy researching ours

I just booked one for DH and I for next March. I can't wait!!

Ring P&O directly, they are so helpful. I've never been on a cruise before, I asked them a zillion dumb questions which the woman on the phone happily answered.

Yeah i wondered if it might be cheaper going through a travel agent - i know when i went with my brother to New York in 2006 it certainly was.. but then again I could be wrong! I was hoping that because I was looking to book far in advance (Nov 2011), then I might get it a bit cheaper.. but i don't think it works that way!
