When do you discus number of embryos to be transfered?
At what point during the cycle would your FS discuss number of embryos to transfer back. I have started my cycle and no one has mentioned anything? When should I expect this to be discussed, the website of MIVF says its the couples biggest decision and I would really like to know how long I have to think it over.
As far as I know, you have up until the actual transfer to make your final decision. At our clinic, some couples change their mind on the day of transfer. Some fs might wait to see how many embryos you have before discussing options with you. Maybe bring it up next time you speak with your fs or give them a call? Good luck!
Just ask your FS what their protocol is. My clinic will only transfer one embryo at a time unless you fit into a certain criteria. 1. You are in your late 30's and have attempted 2 previous cycles. 2. You have a history of repeated unexplained pregnancy loss.
I didn't have a choice. I'm 29 and had never had a loss.
Yeah, just ask your FS anytime. My FS wouldn't even consider transferring 2 (which is what I initially wanted) because of my age (30 at the time). He told me that transferring 2 doesn't necessarily increase your chances which is what I was led to believe before he told me that.
Turns out he was right about 1 working!
