    Cot V co sleeping

Maybe I should post this in the punching bag thread. DS loves his cot! He sleeps so will in it

I wanted to co sleep so much. But also want him to get enough sleep

Aww hun, you never know as he gets older what will happen. It is important for all of you to get rest so I would say don't fix what ain't broke (although some may argue otherwise but that is MHO) but as he gets older you may find that he will become more unsettle,d when he is sick etc. that he ends up co-sleeping anyway. We never co-slept with either of ours but from about 5am every day we have one or 2 of them in with us, plus whenever they are sick.

Yep, just get as much sleep as you can now, things change and they go through different phases of needing extra security at nighttime. DD was in her bed till 6 months then it all changed and she was in with me till over 2 yrs. Enjoy your sleep. x

DS2 liked his cot/bassinette until 5ish months It's not a bad thing, because they can have their day sleeps in there, even if they sleep with you at night. Try not to fret darl, if it's what you want, I'm sure he'll be back in with you at some stage, when he's decided he wants it too

like the others have said sometime they like thier own space and he might change his mind and want to sleep with you again. At the end of the day you are following his lead so here's some more and maybe just cuddle him more when he is awake

It's all good just more of a funny vent really. It's me or the cot lol

I guess I just worry that I will find him not breathing so like him close.

I've always co slept with nieces and nephews.

Can you fit the cot in your bedroom so he's close?

They have their own ideas right from the start don't they! I'm sure there'll be times that's all he wants hun and he'll give you heaps of cuddles too

I have had my 2 youngest in the cot next to my side of the bed. Oskar was in there til 2 1/2 and Elijah is still there now at 18 months. It's the next best thing to co-sleeping. Most mornings Elijah has a BF in bed with me and depending on the time will sleep with me until he is up for the morning.

I was also going to suggest putting the cot into your room if possible, we took one side off so we all still had enough space but he was right next to me.

Yeah dd slept well in her own cot from 3mths until 8mths then we had to start co sleeping. Prior to 3mths she was in a hammock in our room. Just go with the flow.....things can and do change as they change.
