What do you mean by meal plan exactly, we get paid monthly so I always have our meals planed out for the month. Maybe I can help, but I'm not 100% what you mean, my fault lol

I don't meal plan, have never got around to doing it..lol
But I think for one week if you planned for one vegetarian meal, say 3 'other' meals (like spag bol, pasta, casserole etc), and then either 2 or 3 meat & veg meals. If you had just two meat & veg then the last night could be takeaway or homemade pizzas/fish and chips. If you had one of the 'other' meals large enough where you had leftovers then that also cuts down on cooking/shopping.

I meal plan. I shop weekly for grocery and DH usually does a Vic Market shop around once a month. I plan around what he brings home.
I also use Lentils a fair bit now..I make a lentil pie using short crust pastry most weeks. I have also added Tofu and Brown rice. This is a good one as you cook the brown rice in advance as it's a fried rice.
We have Spag Bol pretty reguarly, Stir Fry very reguarly (using Hokkien noodles).
    The usual Steak and Veg.
I buy canneloni shells and do spinach and ricotta using frozen spinach..this is a really yummy quick meal (a little fiddly filling the canneloni shells).
Tonight is Torellini with a ready made pasta sauce. I buy the tortellini in bulk and then separtate and freeze.
My version of meal planning is we have a list of what meat DH has purchased at the market on the fridge and I keep my pantry now stocked with things I use reguarly like Lentils, tinned tomatoes.
I add lentils, tofu, spinach and ricotta to the list on the fridge as that helps me decide.
I decide usually in the morning by looking at the list and then defrost and prepare during the day.
I know of people who have meal plans like..Monday is chicken, Tuesday is Rice, Wednesday is Steak, Thursday is casserole and Friday is take away.

There's a meal plan thread have you checked that out?

For us we do meat and veg every day. They just might change a bit...

We might have a steak salad. We might have lamb, veg fritters (zuchhini or baby spinach) and roast tomatoes or baked mushrooms. Or we'll have roast asparagus with meat and some polenta. It's all up in the air. We might have shephards pie (which I class as meat & veg). We might have a roast once a week, but it's not always traditional. We also might have sausages once a week but we don't always do it as bangers it might be a curry, a casserole, or even just boring hot dogs.

Meat and 3 veg kind of meal - as in a chop and some veg on a plate old school lol... only appear here once a week usually, maybe twice if I am feeling lazy.

We have a lot of stir fry - so meat and veg mostly, casseroles, pies, stews, etc but not what I call "meat and veg meals"
