Please help, its for a friend. Kinda urgent

She had 1 egg transferred last Thursday so this would make her 7dpo. She has had some cramping today (she said its like her periods coming) and some light bleeding. She said its not fresh blood.

Could this be implantation cramping/bleeding? Or does the hormones make your period come quicker? I told her it could be implatation cramping/bleeding

Thanks guys, hopefully you can help her. She's beside herself

She's 7 days past transfer then...? So 10-12 days past o depending on what kind of emby she had transferred. Is that right?
And what meds is she on? Some things will delay af, some won't.

Yes, it could be implantation, or it could be af. When's her bt scheduled for? I had old blood the day before my BT this time and obivoulsy it worked, so it doesn't mean she's out just yet. And cramping can mean either pregnancy or af.
Not terribly helpful, sorry. All the best for your friend, hope it's good news for her.

Seven days past transfer is different to seven days past ovulation - ovulation would correspond to egg collection in this case.

If she's had a blastocyst embryo transferred, they go back on day 5 or 6, so she could really be looking at 12-13 days since egg collection/ovulation and that unfortunately means it is likely that cramping and bleeding at this stage is related to AF arriving.

If it's a day 2-3 embryo that was transferred then she's looking more like 9-10 days since egg collection and AF arriving at this point would be unusual.

BUT... if she is using crinone, the applicators can be quite savage for want of a better word and it's not that unusual for some bleeding to result. Even with pessaries - they do cause a lot of irritation to the cervix.

How long until her blood test? The hormones are unlikely to make AF come quicker (usually later, if anything), but I do know of some women who have been unable to absorb the progesterone in that form and have had AF arrive very early, but this can be dealt with in subsequent cycles.

She said bt is on Monday. I'm pretty sure she got t/f a day 5 embryo. She said she was on progesterone injections?

    Thanks guys

I would suggest she rings her clinic and asks if she can have a BT earlier(e.g.tomorrow), I did this on two of my cycles with similar symptoms ( and I would have been just as early in the cycle) as I couldn't stand the waiting,it was killing me. Sorry,I wish I could say she is pregnant, but only a BT will tell her this

Big Hug to your friend as I know the stress all too well.

Sorry about your friend Ahurani. Perhaps direct her to BB so she can chat with all the LTTTC ladies.
