    Saving Mum Website

    Hi.

Can anyone remember that website called 'Saving Mum'? I've googled it and can't find it.
It was a website about saving money in cleaning and it had a recipe section too.

    TIA

    Super Laundry Gel\

This recipe is large and will fill 4 - 2 1/2 litre laundry bottles (10 litres). Only 1/2 cup is necessary per load so it will last weeks and weeks. This recipe is low suds, and works well for both front and top loaders.

    Prep time - 15 mins

    You will need -
1 bar pure laundry soap (pure soap, velvet or sunlight soap - Pure soap may be better for sensitive skin, velvet and sunlight soap have stain removing qualities)
    1/2 cup lectric soda crystals
    1/2 cup borax powder
    Hot water
    cold water
A large nappy bucket (10L capacity)
    4 empty laundry bottles (2 1/2 L capacity)

    1. Grate soap and put it into extra large saucepan. (you can also chop soap instead of garting, but grating helps it melt faster. If you do grate it be careful not to inhale the soap powder) Add 2 1/2 L of hot water and heat on low, until soap is completely melted(do not boil). Remove from heat. Add washing soda and borax, stirring well till completely dissolved.

    2. Pour 2 1/2 L hot water into the bucket. Now with care add your soap mixture to the bucket and stir well.

3.Finally add 5L cold water and carefully stir again

    4. with a kitchen jug carefully pour mixture into 4 bottles. Secure lids.

    5. Let sit for about 24 hours and it will gel.

Result is a watery gel, give a shake before every load, use 1/2 cup per load. If clothes are extra dirty, add a cap of nappy powder, or even eucalyptus oil
