Have some silly advice:
Its the day/s you have the strongest urge to jump your DH. So hold off on TTC every single day, let it build up a bit and just do it when you REALLY want to lol
Hi Everyone,
Just after a little advice! I am really hoping that this is the month for us! So I am wanting to pick my O day right!
Last cycle was 32 days and I got a positive OPK on CD19. The day after that I had creamy CM and lots of cramping to one side. Four days later on CD23 I had lots of EWCM and lots of detail on the 'Maybe Baby' with a higher temp!
So.....I don't really know which one was O? I assume it was the first one, but what is with the EWCM days later?
Thanks in advance!

There are conception calendars than can predict which day it is but i'd say cd 19.
Best of luck this month, we will be trying soon....
Thanks girls!! I have used a calendar which did predict the 19th! That was also around the time that we DTD alot, as I was really in the mood so that makes sense now I guess!!We weren't TTC last month though! Thanks heaps! That EWCM really confused me though!
Hey Taryn! Not sure I'm much help, but I agree with RumpledElf - after I stopped the pill, I found that there was really a particular time of the month that I was much more in the mood than any other time (when it's mostly just cos DH wants to, lol!). Also, having never used an OPK myself I have no advice there, but the creamy CM doesn't really equate to ovulation. I reckon I'd probably say actual O happened the day of or after those pains, then you get the EWCM to help the little fellas reach the eggie. Also, with your temps, a site like FF (not sure if you're using that) will pinpoint your ovulation after you've had 3 days of steady temp rises.
So, after all that rambling, if any of it makes sense, I'd probably put your O day around 20 or 21. I'm happy to be contradicted, but that's my take!
It's hard to say hon, sorry! You could have O'd around cd23 giving you a short LP.
I strongly suggest you sign up with Fertility Friend and start charting properly. Also get yourself a basal body temperature (BBT) thermometer (or you can use a normal digital thermometer but they aren't as acurate) and start using OPKs. I'm a huge fan of the digital OPKs. They are pricey but take out all the guess work. I used cheaps and then Clear Blue Digital OPKs and fell pregnant with DD the month I used the digital ones.
Good luck!!
Thanks girls, I will get onto FF! It is really annoying because I don't want to miss it, obviously! I guess I need to learn to trust my body more. I have definitely noticed a stronger urge to get busy than usual though, so that is a start I guess! Thanks again, you're all great! xox
Hi sweetness - I agree with the other gals - Fertility Friend has been the most useful tool for me by far, as most of my O symptoms seem to vary each month! Using it you can correlate all the signs including temperature shifts, CM, pain and any other symptoms (including the urge for sexy time!). You will quickly see a pattern emerging and the software will help you pinpoint your most fertile days.
Don't know if this helps but it's also possible to get a second estrogen surge after you've ovulated, which could explain another bout of EWCM, tender (.)(.) and so on. I sometimes get pre-O cramps, O cramps and then post-O cramps too.
I have everything crossed that this is your month *HUGS*
Taryn, I'm only new to the charting thing, but I'd say the most reliable indicator is the EWCM, not the OPK. Apparently, OPKs can tell a hormonal surge before the egg is released, so it might take another day or perhaps even more (depending on your body) before ovulation actually occurs. The EWCM is your body's sign that ovulation has occurred.
EWCM actually occurs when you're about to or are ovulating. EWCM is the awesome mucous that sperm love as it aids them with their swimming.
OPKs detect a hormonal surge to let you know ovulation is imminent and therefore indicate to start BDing. Yes, O may be a couple of days off but sperm can survive up to 5 days on their journey and the EWCM helps a lot.
There are many different types of OPKs but they all do the same thing, it's just the interpretation of them which can be difficult at times (as you need to witness the test line getting darker/stronger over a few days). That's why I love the digital ones as you get a smiley face on the digital screen when it's time to BD!! Easy! You keep testing until the surge is over (so, in the case of digital OPKs, when you no longer get the smiley face) which is usually within 24-48 hours.
Thanks again Ladies! WOW to FF!!! I just filled in all my info from June to today, it's amazing!! I think I have a better understanding now, it is awesome to see it on a graph! x
Good luck with it Taryn! Here's hoping your BFP is just around the corner xx
Pft, my own advice coming back to haunt me here. Was feeling a bit frisky a few weeks ago but naaaaaah just had a baby, can't be anything to it. Sure enough ... period exactly 2 weeks later. Noooooooo! lol
