Ok, we've decided to go away next year as a family for my 30th (May). Hopefully I will be pregnant. Any suggestions? I can probably get between $3000 and $5000 out of money bags (AKA DH ). Would love to go O/S but doubt that's in the budget! Would love all inclusive. About a week... So... where have you been? What did you do? Ideas? Who do/don't I fly with?
Cruise! You'd get a pretty decent cabin and itinerary with that kind of budget, and you could go O/S (South Pacific, NZ, Asia), and it's pretty much all inclusive. Depends how you feel about cruising though? And generally I think it's up to the 24th week of pregnancy that you can cruise with most companies.
I think if you're pregnant you just want somewhere with a beach and lots of relaxing,
I went to Samoa pregnant (Although didn't do the luxury tourist thing as I was there to work in the hospital) but I always thought it would be a great place for a holiday once the baby (DD) came. I guess Fiji would be similar.
Yummy fruit and food, lots of lovely blue water, a couple of good books....sounds divine! I agree that your budget should get you tehre, especially if you are on the East Coast, Virgin blue/Pacific Blue often does holiday packages
If you are west coast Bali or Thailand have many kid friendly places and would be great.
Enjoy
Ooohh, you lucky girl!
I second a cruise. We had soo much fun when we went on ours (though we were kid free back then!). But food is included, you can go for a week or two for a fairly minimal amount. And it will be nice to get out of the cold weather in Aus and go to the tropics!!
We went on a cruise for our honeymoon when DW was 13 weeks pregnant, and we hated it. We were both really sick, it was cold and windy outside, and we ended up flying back after four days!
Make sure you've got sea legs!
Regards,
Michael Jones

Bali is great - cheap massages, beach, lots of relaxing and kid friendly. May is a really good time of the year there too. Most of the islands like Fiji and Vanuatu are great too - very kid friendly. Vanuatu is quite expensive for food and things but there are often good packages there and places like Fiji.
NZ is cheap, easy, child-friendly and you don't need to worry about visas, vaccinations, etc. It's also really easy to drive around in a rental car, or even a campervan. The Kiwis are really friendly too.
