    Smile Weightloss for wedding

I can guarentee that you are going to be seeng a lot of me in tthe diet and weightloss threads over the next 10months as I continue to lose weight for my wedding.

I want to look my best ever. I ahve already lost over 20kg in the last year but would like to lose another 15-20kg for my wedding. I will never again in my life wear a dress as expensive as the one I will be wearing and I just want to look smokin (and not with a cigeratte)!

You always hear about brides saying they will lose weight for their weddings and I am just wondering if you in fact did lose weight and how much you lost in what time frame? Did you find more weight came off just before the day with all the stress?

I need some inspiration but also want to hear everyone's story

I lost 12kg in 3 months by counting calories and exercising. There are lots of sites that will help you work out your appropriate daily calories (1200 for me) but I'll not lie it is a hard slog. However doing it this way you are more likely to keep the weight off after your wedding, which is always a bonus

I lost a little bit, maybe 4 or 5 kg, but I was on a weight loss journey anyway. I made my own dress, so could alter it as required and it wasn'tan issue. Have lost another 8kg since the wedding though (and then put on 13 worth of baby!!)

But yeah, you can do it - your wedding will be the most gorgeous motivation ever!

I did. I lost nearly 22kg with Weight watchers in the 12 months before my wedding. It took me 6-7 months to lose it and I maintained from then till the wedding. I would have kept it off for longer only we got a surprise bubs a few weeks after we were married LOL. I don't know if I lost any in the lead up because I never weighed myself, but I don't think I would have. It was hard, but so worth it when I look at my wedding photos.

Alibaby I have no doubt that you will look nothing short of breath taking on your wedding day! You are already such an inspiration with what you have achieved so far I was trying to loose weight for my wedding but never really got there! I'm not sure why, the motivation just mustn't have been there as we weren't having any guests. I wanted to be 60kg's but I was 64 kg's, looking back I love my wedding photos etc We got married in Qld in December so it was really hot. I think instead of focusing on the scales I was eating really well and I mean super dooper well. Loads of water, making fresh juices every morning, huge salads for lunch and dinner, light stirfrys with a bit of rice etc. So I think focusing on heaps of fruit and veg and water my skin was glowing, hair was shining, my eyes were clear and I felt light and really good anyway kwim. Best of luck although I know you don't need it.

Whilst I didn't lose weight before my wedding (as I was 4 months pregnant!), I just wanted to say I really think you can do it Ali!! I've been following your blog and you're awesome for what you've achieved so far.

I'm now focussing on losing my baby weight and am half way through a 12 week challenge. It's the Michelle Bridges one and it works. There are other ladies in the program who have already lost 15 plus kilos in only 6 weeks. So yes, it can be done and I think you will be smokin' hot in your wedding dress

I lost about 15kg before my wedding, probably over an 8 month time frame. All I really did was start jogging every morning. I had been walking a bit here and there, but I really kicked it up a notch and gradually built up to jogging. At my fittest I would run about 4km every morning (or be jogging for about 30 minutes). I also started doing a 15 minute exercise video focusing on the tummy, since that is my biggest problem area. I didn't really watch what I ate, but I did try and cut down my portion sizes slightly. If you look on my FB you'll be able to see a few of my wedding photos - the end result .

You will look absolutely breathtaking Ali, I have no doubt!

All I did was walk the dog about every second night, but I only needed to lose about 5 kg. My dress was just that little bit tight. A couple of weeks before the big day my dress was still a bit tight, but in the two weeks leading up the the wedding I had lost maybe 3-4 kg just from freaking out and being SUPER busy!

Have a wonderful day when it comes and Good luck with the weight loss

I lost close to 7kg in 6 weeks leading up to my wedding but I was in a make or break situation.

I tried on my dress 6 weeks before and it was so tight you could see pullin at the back.. I was so mortified as it for fine when I brought it 8 months earlier.

I did it by counting calories and exercising for 30 min in the morning and 30 min at night EVERYDAY!!!

Was hard but had the fat pic of me in my dress on my phone to stare at during each training session.

Unfort I put it all bar minus 2kg back on after the wedding.

You really need to look at your calorie intake then. Doing that much exercise and eating well, you will see results. I am doing the Michelle Bridges 12 week body transformation and in 2 weeks have lost nearly 2 kgs and that is exercising nearly everyday and counting calories. Do you have an Iphone? Perhaps look at downloading the myfitnesspal app - you can track your food in there & it will tell you how many calories you should be eating. I base my calories off the MIchelle Bridges program which is about 1200 cals, so no room for eating crap. GL

    I agree with RhiChiChi!

My weight has always fluctuated. I lost 20kg last Spring (2010) after DD's birth by eating ice and raw veges (carrots-high carbs and sugar-but easy to burn), and walking in soft beach sand). After 19 weeks gestation with DS in 2011 I gained 30kg thanks too no exercise and eating meat (Xmas ham!!)!! Im now nearly 7 months post-DS' birth and have 10kg to go until i'm back to where i'm happy!
    Good luck xx

I lost 27.5kgs in 16 weeks with a calorie controlled diet and exercise (go team 12 week body transformation!!).
I didn't do it for my wedding... I wish I was bright enough back then to have done it.

And PMSL just looked at the date of this thread.... not really all THAT recent. Whoops! Hope the weight loss is going/has gone well!!
