Tell me about soap nuts. I know nothing. What are they? Are they actual nuts, grown on a tree? How do they work? How do they clean? Does it lather or bubble up? What are they like on stains? Do they catch and snag on clothes? Does it wear out, or wear down... how do you know when to change it? Can you soak with it? Does it have a smell? How many do you need for a washing machine, does it matter what size the machine is?
And what is Rockin Green? Is it a detergent or is it like a soap nut? Apparently you can soak MCNs in it, and it doesn't break it down???!!???
Rockin green is like a detergent. I have a sample of it & can't say I have noticed anything fantastic since using it. BUT I have heard it gives ALOT of bubbies a rash. Something to do with the oil they use? Never used soap nuts. I don't think they are nuts, just balls of soap KWIM. I just use my normal washing detergent, just not as much.
soap nuts are an actual berry/nut- never used them though. I think they have a certain amount of washes they do then you've got to use new ones. You put a few in like a little bag and then put them in the wash. I have read up on them but haven't been game to try them.
Soap nuts are an actual nut. In the wash, you put them in a little bag, so they don't catch on anything. Apparently they taste gross. They do lather up a fair bit. They don't have a fragrance - I add essential oil in water or vinegar to the fabric softener bit when I use them. I have heard that the bag can have a little dribble that stains, but I have never seen it. I add a teeny tiny bit of washing soda to the wash when I use them, which is environmentally a little naughty, but I think it helps them to work.
Rockin Green - I have some sachets, but haven't used it yet. So can't say much.
