Antibiotics, vomitting & a 6mo.....help!

I'm pulling my hair out with this one a bit - DS2 has an ear infection (plus a nasty rattley cough) so dr has prescribed some ABs....problem is that everytime I've tried to get him to take them he projectile vomits within about 30 seconds. So I'm wasting quite a lot of medicine and he's not getting what he needs .

So, just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get him to swallow without the performance. Before I go bald

It's such a difficult age to get medicine into them isn't it? Is he on solids of any sort? Could you mix the AB's into some food or milk?

Does he have a fever? Perhaps some panadol to make him feel a little better and then the AB's half an hour later?!

Good luck, hope he gets better soon, and stop pulling your hair out, bald isn't the best look.

If you are giving him his meds in a syringe, try giving only small drops at a time. I would routinely take 5 mins to give boytwin his meds at that age, and the small amounts he happily swallowed without spitting it out.
