    Getting the 'big' bed...

    Just wondering...

We are looking at moving DD into a big girl bed before #3 comes along, which will then see DS into the 'hand me down' toddler bed from his big sister .

I'm in two minds about what sort of bed to buy. Ideally we would like a nice white wooden bed for her (about $900) - but I don't know the chances of her trashing the bed with crayons or scratching toys on the wood etc.

Besides we will be moving in a few years time (so scratch / dent galore hehe), should I just get a cheaper bed in the meantime?

I got my DD a white wooden bed which was factory second and I got over 50% off. It never hurts to ask about that and also factory seconds too. Her bed was factory seconds as there is two sets of holes drilled into the head as they weren't lined up. You can't even see it.
I was worried about her wrecking it too but she is so protective of it and no-one is allowed near it or sit on it let alone food/drink/crayons, LOL!!
If you're worried you can always buy a white tubular frame bed. They look cute too.

We r waiting on dd's big bed to be made!! Cant wait!! We have the sane thinking as u to get her settled before bubs comes. We got it from an awesome place called bunkers. They specialise in bunks so thought further down the track we might like bunks for the kids. So the bed we got dd is just a normal bed but when we r ready we can buy the rest of the pieces to convert it to a set of bunks.
We got it stained green and white so it's unisex. We will be moving around a bit in the coming years I'll just be diligent (=bossy lol) about ppl being careful with it. Yes no food/drink/crayons will be allowed near the bed!!

We bought DD's from Adairs, on sale, for like $600 or something - cheap cheap. It was some special deal, they'd sent out x number for floor displays, they didn't need all of them, so we got what was supposed to be floor stock but was still in its packaging. Like half price just about.

Keep an eye out for specials... they are out there!

FWIW - DD has been in her for about six months and it still looks like new, and she is a cyclone!
